Thanks for all the input im out to sea and the internet is slow as hell so i dont usually feel like waiting 10 min to post a reply. I think i might go with L7s I already have 2 cvr's and a 750 kicker amp in my truck and i guess it doesnt do to bad im i mean im not winning any compititions but it does good for me. I just bought a 86 cutlass of ebay I would like to get the loudest spl set up for my budget all together im trying to spend no more than $2000 for alarm interior speakers indash and subs and amp I do my own installs although I dont have the tools to build a box and I **** at math. Like I said im not trying to compete but i would like to be heard a couple blocks away........

I was thinking about 4 ma audio 12s with a hifonics or ma audio amp what u guys think???

I think you wont get much more help if your intent is to be heard 2 blocks away. Car audio as a hobby gets enough bad press as it is, please do not build a stereo with the intention of making everyone within a 2 block radius hear how cool you are. Build the system for yourself, contain the sound, show us how cool you are by respecting others around you.

ok my mistake Im not going to ride around everyday just so people can hear me but I would like it to be loud w/ the least amount of money possible. Its like a mini competion between me and my lil brother who might be somewhere on this forum asking the same type of ques. so Ill go for loudness this time and after next deployment ill take it out an go for sql.

yeah i don't really think the sony's are a good choice either

you can get 2 kicker cvr's for 150 shipped off ebay

if you have the room you can run four of those and find a sundown 1500 used. you'll be right around budget and get pretty **** loud

on the other hand there are alot of good 2 sub setups as well.

the alpine type r 15's would do well on that amp as well.

man i just came off a carrier and i miss it so much... right now im on a stupid small *** minesweeper and it really sux im out of texas 4cvrs will prob get really loud does anyone still offer them bogo

what up sailor whats your rate and rank? I would go with type r's man they get real loud that what i had in a ported enclosure and it sould good too.

**** on a minesweep that's gotta be rough. I'm underway right now too so I know what you mean about the internet. The other day I saw that woofer's of mass destruction( I think that's what they are called) is having a sale right now for buy one get one free, I think it's like $200 for 2 12's from what I hear about these subs is they are pretty good. As for the amp I'd go with a JBL GTO1200.1 there pretty cheap on ebay.
