Help a noobie out

First off, I bet you are blowing subs from cranking the gains on your amp. Causing clipping and eventually frying your subs.

Second, you need to do some reading. Lots of it actually. Understand the fundamentals of watts, amperage, voltage.

As for what gear to buy....none. Not until you figure our how the system works. Even with the best gear in the world, if not set up proper, it will sound like crap and fry.

the12volt.com has a lot of good resources. I would also suggest reading around on here but sometimes its hard to tell what info is accurate and what info is skewed, especially when you are a noob. I spent a month installing my first setup, each day I would look up something and then go outside and do it. Trial and error is a good way of learning but you need to know the basics first
