help 3 sa-12 ultras

Wired to 1.3 it looks like. Need box specs. If this is a prefab triple sub box, no it won't be better. If it's the box for the kickers with an extra hole, no it won't be louder. If you can't find specs than get a tape measure and calculate it.

If you click on the link in my post it takes you to the box info but not the hz its ported to. I want to build a box when it warms up. The mickers were in a prefab box also.

Features:

Dimensions: 39.5'W x 15.75'H x 22'D

6 Turbo Ports - 2 per chamber

Air space: 1.8 cu. ft. per chamber

(3) 12' woofer openings

Sprayed with genuine Rhino Lining Coating

'Q Bomb' etched in the top of the box

The 1.8 cubic feet claim is a GROSS claim NOT net. NET is after you subtract the space the port and subwoofer takes up and thats the final space the sub uses to function properly. The port is area ratio is extremely small and its suffocating the subs. After running all the specs in the enclosure calculator and subtracting the space the subwoofer takes up, you are getting 1.2 cubic feet per chamber and your port area is tiny!!! normally you want around 16 sq inches of port area per cubic feet, that box is only at 9.68 which is pathetic.

sundown ultras need 2-2.5 cubic feet NET and 14-16 square inches of port area. You are at best half of what you need. Subs are choked out like no other.

That brx pumps out no where enough juice to power 3 of them either. Trust me I run two of them no way in hell is that enough to power SA ultras in a tiny *** box. YES that box is TINY compared to what you actually need to get any sort of proper sound. Especially if your electrical system is not strong enough to supply 14.4 volt current to the amp even during the heaviest bass drops.

Hate to say it but you got tricked with that box bro, its complete and utter garbage that looks fancy. Space makes bass, no other alternative. You made one of the biggest mistake of cramming heavy power subs in a tight place and suffocating them having no clue what a proper enclosure can actually do.

Willing to bet my left nut that ONE SA ultra in a proper ported box will be louder than your 2 kickers easily.

What car is this in?

Its in a tahoe I plan to build a box this summer. I have a 250 amp alt comming my way. 4/0 (not 4 gauge) big 3 and wire to all 3 batts and have red tops ordered have 3 normal batts now. The amp should put out 2200 at 1 ohm at 14.4 so if im running 14 and 1.3 ohms should still have the power there to push these. They have way more box atm than my Kickers did. Thanks for the info. Going to look at a few things when I get hone. This box was purchased withthe intent of being temporary. The box Im building will be 3x the size. They should still hit harder that my cvrs in this box.

No they wont. Theres a thing called impedance/box rise Even when you are wired low, your actual impedance will be a lot higher therefore resulting in a lot less power. You'll never get the full output out of your amp even if its a really high dollar amp, thats just how physics work. Read up on box rise man. Also the brx 2400 only does 2100 on 14.4V if you are AT 1 ohm not wired to 1 ohm but actually at on ohm meaning you need to wire to half ohm and such to even see close to 1 ohm power. You are at most getting 1400 watts at 2-3 ohms after rising which aint much and considering how box size determines power handling and efficiency, thats even more output down the drain.

What part of Subs are CHOKED OUT do you not understand? A choked out sub loses 80-90% of its output capabilities YES THAT MUCH.

I understand exactly what you are saying and I know full well it is to small. Thanks for letting me know that this is the isue. I also understand box rise so Ill be close to 2 ohms after I include this

yeah man, lower wattage, low xmax subs in a semi passable enclosure will get louder than beefy high xmax subs in a tiny enclosure with inadequate port. How big the port should be closely related to the sub's xmax, kickers barely have any xmax so the port doesnt need to be big to get some performance. Complete opposite with sundown.

Will a 250amp alt and 2 red tops up front and one car audio batt in the back keep the volts were they need to be for the 5k and You really think the sa-12us can handle all of that power
