set up:

CAR--------> 2005 Nissan Altima

Head Unit---> Pioneer DEH-4600bt

AMP--------> Hifonics BRX2000.1D w/bass knob

Subs-------> (2) 12'' Alpine Type R's (SWR 12D2) 3---1000watts RMS 3000 watts PEAK

so here's my question.... when setting the gain on my amp should i turn it up as far as it can go and turn the bass knob all the way down to its lowest point then gradually turn it up? ive noticed that i have to turn it 3/4 the way up with the knob to get decent bass and right now its set about halfway on the amp? also can someone look up this deck and tell me how i should have the settings set b/c there are things that i dont know about!! im just getting into car audio so i dont know much at all!!! also when you reply can you talk my language lol b/c audio terms confuse me!!! THANKS A LOT

Sounds about right to me with the gain and remote knob. Ideally you should have enough play in your volume/remote gain knob that you can get max output out of the lowest record level music you have.

As far as audio settings on your head unit there's probably a shitload of them. I'd think some playing around and taking notes would probably get you a good idea... if it sounds good it is good! And if you run into anything you can't figure out what it's doing just come back and ask specifically.
