Helix dsp tool

I have been having trouble connecting my dsp.3 to my laptop. I have tried different laptops and usb cables with no luck.

I was able to connect to my laptop the day I installed the dsp. As time passed over I got rid of the helix director i had also installed and now that the director isn’t installed its my thinking that removing it is what caused a problem to not connect to tool or is it that I’m not using the same Laptop I use to have.
