Heelo all, new to the thread, have questions for setting up a system for my mustang

measured my rear speaker areas...5x7 was the speaker size, so im looking to get some type component plate to fit that...

Make your own adapter plates out of wood and use 5-1/4's.

Are there companies that do this work, and will do so for the a/d/s amps?? need some leads, and i'll do just that...thanks

Zed, dB-r, Envision Electronics, TIPS, and a few others can probably do it.

If all the OP is going to run is that pair of a/d/s pq20 amplifiers, 4 gauge is going to be way overkill.

EDIT: Maybe not way overkill, but more than adequate.

Yep, 4ga should be fine. He will need to upgrade the wire size if he adds another amplifier later though.

what does anyone think of the older rockford fosgate fanatic q's? I have a chance to pick some up, and was told by a friend that they were some of the best r/f ever made...comments???

I used some of the Fanatic Q's. Still have a pair of the 5-1/4 mids. Yes, some of the best RF has made. But RF hasn't made a lot of good comp sets to compare it to. The Fan Q's replaced the Audiophile series (which I also ran) as their top of the line comps. I didn't much like the audiophiles, but I was pretty young then.

As for if you will like them, who knows. They could be the best comp set in the world, and half the people who listen to them would still say "meh" or "my Kappas sound better". Comp sets are a fairly personal preference type product.
