Health people, need help

I am trying to become healthier, to help some of the problems I already have from getting worse. I am a little overweight, and I definitely think if I lose 30-40lbs. I would feel alot better. I have pretty high blood pressure, don't know what the cause of it is, but figured it might be related to my weight. I have bad knees also, so lightening the load would be a plus. I also scoliosis and I don't know if losing weight would help, but it couldn't hurt. I have a real slow metabolism, so that sucks.

What kind of foods can I eat that would help speed up my metabolism and fill me up.

I am getting ready to get a job where I will be sitting down at a computer for 8 or more hours, so I definitely need to do something before i get super lazy. What kind of snacks would you suggest that will give me energy is healthy.

Right now I can't do much exercise with my back being all ****ed up. I can walk, but I don't know if thats really doing all that much. Any other exercise I can do with scoliosis? i have tried googling stuff, but apparently iam not too good at it cuz all that turns up for me is books and stuff.

Check out the ABS diet, it is not really a diet but more of a way to eat 'clean' it will also teach you how to set your calorie intake per day and help you to get a lot of protein in your diet.

As far as exercise there are some very low impact areobic things in it you can do but walking it def better than nothing. You will still build a little muscle.. If you can try and do some weights if there are any that are comfortable for you.. I have a screwed up arm so I am very limited as to what I can do but just go for anything.

If you can pickup the ABS diet book and check out http://forums.menshealth.com just make sure you do not venture into the '***' or 'Locker Room' //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You can also check out bodybuilding.com which you can get quite a bit of info from but you will find more people just looking to bulk there.

To figure out your calorie intake go to the link below.. If you are moderately overweight (30-60lbs) take off 500 calories off what it tells you that you need to 'maintain' if you need to loose more than that just take off 1000 calories a day and eat it and make sure you eat all of those CLEAN calories a day and I guarantee you it works just give it a shot.

I snack on unsalted peanuts and peanut butter.

I'll assume you have a doctor(family doc at least) for the scoliosis. I'd get with him on a plan on what you can and cannot do. Not knowing the severity of your problem, it would be stupid to give you training advice.

Walking does work though. Park at the farthest space at your office and walk in. Also take the stairs not the elevator.

I haven't been to the doctor but once or twice since i figured out I had it, and now that doctor has moved. There are not many doctors to chose from around here. A teacher I had back in school suggested and osteopath, but I have yet to find one. I prolly should get all the medical attention I can get before I move out next month and I am not covered by my parents insurance.

I always park near the back when I have to go to wally world, then I park on the opposite side. Now that its starting to cool off and the **** snakes will be disappearing soon, i guess I could take advantage of the 100 acres of woods and hills that we live on and take some long walks in the morning. j

My friend is coming back from basic training in a little over a week and we are going to split an apartment, so I could go to the gym with him since its boring going by yourself and lift weights or something. I went a few times before, but my blood pressure was super high then and I got all light headed and couldnt see that well, but I think my blood pressure has lowered some since then.

Thanks for all the help guys

if you each oatmeal in the mornin for breakfast it not only lowers your blood pressure but it will also help speed up your metabolism if you do it every day.

also this might sound stupid as hell, but if you limit your calorie intake in a day you will lose weight, you will be hungery almost starving but it will work.

there are also programs now that they send you food like neaturasystem or somethin like that
