headunit only has memory on some things? whats wrong?

Hey guys I have a Alpine IVA-C800 and for some reason it wont keep some stuff in memory. It wont keep bass/treble/sub settings or clock settings. It also always goes to 97.9 fm with no sound. BUT if I go to play the cd function, it will start playing on the same song and the time it was at when I shut the truck off.

Am I missing a second memory wire that should be connected or something else? thanks!

do you have the yellow (constant) +12v wire connected to an "always on" wire?

Im pretty sure, I might have to go pull it out to make sure. I would think the cd player would start at the beginning if it wasnt hooked up.

I was wondering if there is a memory wire for the headunit and then another memory wire for the brain that maybe I missed?

speaking of which... WHY THE F*CK do these companies make the yellow wire 12Vconstant, and not the red one 12V constant... confusing as hel for beginners

its a 1997 Suburban. Ill have to double check tomorrow, Ive installed head units before but not a 'multi media station' so I wasnt sure if it there was a hookup to the brain I forgot.

But tomorrow when its light out I will check on the constant wire.

Wouldnt you guys agree that if the constant wire was not hooked up then the cd wouldnt start in the same position as when I shut the truck off at?
