Head Unit install

I am installing an alpine 7893 h/u in my 94 bmw 325i. i was wondering if my car has a pre amp to the seapeakers already from the factory. Did the stock h/u's have an amp built in them. I need help and i am installing it soon, thanks

yes of course stock HU's have amps otherwise u wouldnt hear anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

anyways u need to get a 10 gauge amp kit for the 7893 since it has 60x4 internal amp.

i mean i was wondering if my specific stock head unit had an external amp rather than internal in the headunit. and what would happen if i didnt use the 10 gauge wire and wired the power directly to my factiry wire harness power supply?
