Slowly planning an upgrade for a 2017 Honda CRV. Keeping the OEM HU and grabbing the high level signal for feeding two amps and new speakers.
Recently picked up an Audiocontrol LC2i LOC and saw the freq range for that unit as 33hz-100khz. So that got me thinking if I stay with this LOC, I'll have to plan around the 33hz limitation. Then I thought what does my OEM HU output? I couldnt find any info on Honda forums.
A general inquiry on AI forms show that most audio manufacturers HUs generally produce 20hz - 20khz.
So if I were to keep my LOC, no need to pursue anything lower than 33Hz as my LOC wouldnt pass that. I researched other LOCs that can process lower and higher freq ranges.
But the main question is: can I find out what my HU freq range is? If my HU doesnt produce anything lower than 40hz, for example, no need to consider another LOC.
Maybe it's an off the wall question. Any ideas?
