It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue with the display screen of your Pioneer audio system in your Lexus NX200t. Here are several troubleshooting steps you can take to potentially resolve the dimming issue:

### 1. **Check Brightness Settings:**
- Look for a brightness or display settings option in your audio system's menu. Sometimes, the brightness can be adjusted manually, and it may have been inadvertently reduced.

### 2. **Inspect for a Dimmer Control:**
- Some vehicles have a dimmer control for the dashboard and display screens. Check your vehicle's manual for information on locating this control and ensure it's set to the appropriate level.

### 3. **Reset the Head Unit:**
- A reset might help resolve the issue. This can often be done by holding down the power button for a few seconds until the unit powers down and restarts. If there is a reset button, you can also use that.

### 4. **Check Wiring Connections:**
- Loose or corroded wiring connections can cause display issues. Carefully inspect the wiring harness connected to your head unit for any signs of damage or loose connections.

### 5. **Software Update:**
- Check if there are any available firmware updates for your Pioneer head unit. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates that can fix bugs and improve functionality.

### 6. **Look for Environmental Factors:**
- Sometimes, the screen can appear dim due to external factors like sunlight glare. Ensure that the screen is clean and free from obstructions.

### 7. **Inspect for Hardware Issues:**
- If none of the above solutions work, the issue may be related to the hardware within the head unit itself. This could require professional assessment, as it may involve replacing components or the entire unit.

### 8. **Consult the Manual:**
- If you still have the owner's manual, it can provide specific troubleshooting steps related to your model.

If you still face issues after trying these steps, please let me know what other problems you're experiencing with the head unit, and I'll do my best to assist you further. Also, if anyone else has experienced similar issues or has additional advice, please chime in!

Most cost effective thing you can do is open it and get the model number of the actual screen and check if you can find it online. Most of these are screwed on and plugged via ribbon cable.
Second method is to replace it with an Android unit that is most often times plug&play if you search by the provided information.
Third option is to buy a used one and see if it plays out the box. If not then scavenge the screen off it.

If you shine a flashlight towards it from the side, are you able to make out any of the info on there? Sometimes LCD screens can be read without their backlight that way.

If so, try going into the settings and adjusting screen brightness/contrast/etc, to see if you can affect it at all.
Could be failing edge lighting, failing power to the lighting. Could also be the circuit that turns the pixels on and off.

As 1Esp said, you may be looking at replacing the whole display, if you can troubleshoot it to that point.
