I had witnessed this issue as well. My buddy broke in the sub and then after break in it mad a loud noise only on some notes. I believe it is spider damage. We already sent one sub in and the new one even did it. So were just saying **** it for now cuz we cant afford to keep paying $40 for shipping back to AQ every time.

i have a hdc3 15 and almost half of one of the spider landing has come loose, it makes a nasty slapping sound when you play it. it still stays pretty linear i think, theres no coil rub you can hear and you cant see any rub marks through the cooling vents. so im just gonna slap me some CA glue on it next week and try and repair it. should be fine i think

If you continue to play it like that it will crack in some crazy ways. Been there many times. Stop playing it and Glue it down for sure and it will be fine

good god ha yea im pretty **** positive im not raching mechanical limits, im not sure what to do i really do want to send the sub back. i may try a different box tuned a little lower but i dont think its gonna help

can you see physical damage to the spider. everything looked fine with my sub spider completel intact etc. i just dont know what else this noise could be..

you reconing them yourself? I've done numerous recones and have never had a problem...

ill see what happens because it seems like it has lessened a bit. i really want to tune lower tho im not used to lacking the lows this bad its hurtin me lol. i want to try i bigger box then my current one also, how do these work in 2.5 net mines only in 2 net now
