You would buy a new v4 basket that has better cooling and fits the new style recone. AQ has changed up the spider pack and surround. Guys above don't know everything. I speak to DJ at AQ quite frequently....
If chasing numbers I'd see about throwing more power at the sub for burps and look into box changes or another box. Tuning higher/more port area with a port reducer for daily.

You do understand that DJ(Leon) is not actually at AQ or even in OKC anymore right? The happenings at AQ/DD are not always what they seem. Some times one thing is said and another is done because of various reasons. I wish DJ was fully back to OKC and running the company. It would have a much better out look in the future.

Also they didn't change the spiders at all, just the number in the pack. So they are still the same material. The reason for the dropping the number of spiders again, was because of how stiff they are, and the need to allow more travel much easier. The new baskets were to make using the HDC4 easier and to house less parts(for repairs). Same reason for increasing spider size on the smaller drivers. It did help with the subs ability to play daily though and to help with heat.

I would say I'm pretty on par with AQ happenings.

I've been to DJ's house, I know where he lives. I only talk to him about AQ happenings as I've been a loyal customer for years.

AQ/SQ is doing just fine....

I can only go off my experience with the v4 recones, we've seen gains on the subs we've reconed with those soft parts. These are daily set ups that also burp. Guys only burping and peaking higher probably do lose since the fs is lower and sub is a little looser.
