HDC3 15 Box Build and Other Crap

sorry for the noob question, but what kind of bolts are they? how do you get them to stay?

I used normal "metal" bolts that have a fine thread to them.

I actually bolted them through my baffle and mounted them that way, but the way he did it is fine as well. If I had a double baffle I probably would have done it that way.

He just made the holes real tight and actually threaded the bolt into the baffle.

on the same note, i got all my pieces cut today for my hdc315 as well. was gonna build it but the gf got strep throat (seemed to finally get bad today), so i stopped after cutting the last piece and chilled with her for a bit.

box is sub up/port back, double baffle, and 4^3ft @ 38hz. eagerly awaiting your results and thoughts lakota.

Hope your build goes well I think that I failed to mention that this box is also double baffled. It's not very apparent in the pictures.

Nope, we're ready to get the sub in asap. Once it's in, we'll let the 2500.1 do the work

i think you'll be quite surprised at the upper end capability of this driver. even in this POS box its in, it has WAYY more upper end than my btl in the same install and power (kx2500). and this is a 33hz tuning...

I like to tune higher than most would. I think it should work out pretty well I'm just not going to be happy if my buddy is louder than me now:laugh:

I can't wait to get some time to build my d*mn box for mine! I think I'm going slot ported (4 @ 40) first then maybe build a fart-box with a 6"er or somethin.

143.xx @ 37hz at the headrest. There We haven't done much testing because it's so **** cold, but next time we do we will work on tuning so that we can get his note/score up. I expect at least a 145 @ the headrest.

Not bad.

It's not too bad. The frequency is too low, it really should be in the 45ish hz area. His 2500.1 isn't doing jack squat to the sub, it barely moves. It wants a lot more power.
