OK, Heres what my system consists of:
JVC KD-LX10 Head Unit
Sony XM-1902GX Mobile ES amp
1 12" 4 ohm Kicker Solo Baric L7
4 ga. Monster Cable amp kit.
I have the sub bridged 380 watts X 2 @ 2ohms and the sub is parallel wired meaning that it's running @ 2 ohms. The sub does run but when I turn the volume up to a louder level the protect light will come on and won't run the sub until I turn my car off. The first thing I did was check the ground. I moved the amp to 3 different spots to make sure I was getting a good ground, and it still does this. I'm sure I have a good ground now because it's in the trunk and grounded to the car itself with the paint scraped off. I also know it's not that amp because I used to have a Lanzar 435 (1600 watt max) and it did the same thing. I sold that amp cuz it sounded like crap when it was runnin the sub. I've run outta other ideas as to what the problem might be. I would really appreciate someones help. Thanks.
