Have a question about cadence amp?

I have the Cadence A5 + HC i think thats the correct name i know its the A5. Well it says its 300x1 at 4 ohm and 600x1 at 2 ohm. I was told no matter what way its hooked up its going to put out 600watts. Is this true? I had all four speaker wires in each four slots and i figured it would be 300 watts so then i which it figuring it was going to be 600 watts but nothing really changed. Why would it advertise these 2 different watts if it only does one? I am confused any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The amp is a mono blck amplifier. Doing what you described did not changed the ohm load so the amp put out the same amount of power.
