the difference between .5 farad and 1 farad is storage capacity. How many watts are you running, that determines cap size.

hahahaa umm im just wondering, but is this guy serious???i've got a question where can i find a big 3 at?
That's bogus. When external car amp capacitors were originally designed they had amplifiers in the 100 watt range in mind, and they were usually a half or quarter-farad. To say that the only reason they aren't working is because they aren't big enough can't be right when they're 4 times bigger what they used to be for the same application.hahahaa umm im just wondering, but is this guy serious???
Read the big 3 sticky.
and a .5 farad cap won't do anything.....just wont....even if u have a 100 watt rms amp, those amps dont use too much current as it is so get a 2 farad or higher cap

Rather, most capacitors made for amps today are just too sluggish to do what they're supposed to. Especially the bigger ones. Check out "ESR" on caps for more info.
