I bought 6, to replace my RE12's. 6 4 ohms comes out to a .67ohm load. Probably throw it on the amp I have now, and maybe pickup a GP3000D later.

They're DVC 4ohm subs, so you won't end up with that ohm load.

Where did you see that it doesn't have much excursion(or I'm assuming you mean xmax, which with a comp sub I really wouldn't be interested in how much linear throw it has, so long as it has enough xmech so that I'm not going to bottom it out)? With a cone that large, you really don't need much at all.
