Has anyone had a chance to test the new Alpine Type-R speakers (SPR-60c, SPR-50c, etc) against the old ones (e.g. SPR-17S)? I am curious how they compare with the old ones and also with competing speakers, such as Polk MM, HAT Imagine, or Massive Audio CK6.

I have heard the new neo ones compared to the old ones , and they are waaay better. I almost bought a pair untill i heard how much better Boston acoustic and Hertz sounded. What are you looking for?

Nothing in particular, just a possible upgrade from the old ones. Would like to have smoother, more detailed tweets, and slightly better midbass.

Sorry to come back so late. The budget is around $150-$230 for a passive component setup with woofer and tweeter reasonably easy to install, cheaper is better.
