has anyone here had experience with the older RE8's?

I've been messing around with mine, and wondering what I can do to achieve more output.

If you have used this subwoofer before, what kind of output did you get from it? What kind of box and tuning did you use that was ideal for you? Also, what kind of power did you have running to it? And if you ever did some testing with it, what numbers were you able to squeeze out of it?

Just some pretty general questions about this sub, I have no money to get another beefy sub, so I figured I should try and make the most out of this temporary one I have //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

any help is greatly appreciated, I've been wanting to work with an 8 for a while so hopefully I can make this work.

run it in a tapped horn, I'm not sure if your car can fit one. It will make it sound much fuller and louder then 8's usually sound.

Its an 8, theres not a lot of output to be had, especially if its the RE model level.

Buy my Boston G1 12 in the classifieds, I'll do 55 shipped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif it did 137.3 in the kick on an amp rated for just over 500wrms.

hmm, I have seen a 6.5in sub in a Ford Escape in a tapered horn, is this one of his? I think a horn is out of OP's build capabilities.

just takes time and a solid design, a tline would work as well.

Pete used his crx for most of the video's now he uses his new car.

Yea, pretty sure I have seen that or another of that guy's vids. I think anything outside of a standard bass reflex box is out of op's skill level(not trying to put him down), though I could be wrong here.

I used to have 4 in a standard ported box, 3ft^3 with a 35hz tuning...wish I had tuned lower.

how are they harder to build? Harder to design yes but build no. Hell if wants a tline and post dimensions and sub specs ( I don't have them anymore) I'll do him a design for free.

My friend and I are pretty okay with woodwork. I could see where you guys would think I couldn't due to the box I had made for this 8... It wasn't the best exactly. I fail at the part where I make designs, I can't do it for my life. All the dimensions I do are always off, some **** always gets mixed up. Anything past a t line though would be way out of my league though.. I don't know how people do those 4th orders and ****.

& wdw if you're serious about that I'll hit you up with a PM that has the sub specifications. Seriously if you could design me a t line that would be AWESOME and greatly appreciated.
