hardly any sound from speakers

I got my system all hooked up but am having odd problems with my front speakers. I have a pioneer deh-p630. I have to crank it to 40 to get any decent sound out of the fronts. I have never had to turn a deck up that much and if I did it was loud as hell which this is not. There are Rockford Fanatic Q comps in the front. Any suggestions as to figuring out my problem?. Just to rule a few things out. The fronts are running off deck power at the moment and the deck amp is fine. The only thing I can think of is they need more power than the deck can provide. Please let me know any and all suggestions.

Are you sure your head unit settings arent faded 2 the rear speakers? How much power are the Comps rated at? Who installed them? i suggest a amp either way..

They are not faded at all. I am unsure of the comps power handling. I was considering a amp but was unsure if I really needed one. I had a alpine but my trunk was leaking and I killed it. **** seals.

Oh, it was the previous owner that put them in. He ripped out the factory Bose and put the rockfords in. He should have left them alone. The Bose sound nice. At least the rear ones anyway.

This happend when I changed my POS delco speakers to the kicker comps. I really Pis*** me off cuz I thought they should have been more clear and loud. Then I looked at my amp and saw that the gain was all the way down...... So I turn that up and .............WALAAAAA!

well the reason you got to turn it up so high is cause youre using a HU for the power , how much does it give you 18 watts?im sure those things take over 50 watts, so theres youre problem.

I did but it got fried cuz my trunk was leakin. And my HU puts out 22RMS. Looks like I better get another amp ASAP. Anybody got one that does like 75 rmsX2?

Are you sure you hooked them up properly. When i first hooked mine up i crossed the left and the right some how so I had mad cancelation problems. That might be a problem, when I went and wired them right it was like night and day. Here's a site that might help if that is the problem...

Thats not it. I checked em and they were hooked up fine. Must be they need more power

maybe you could try swithing around the channels. Put the rear speakers on the front channel, and vice versa.

I would have but I have already tested my deck. The amp in it is fine. It just doesnt put out what those comps need. Thanks for the suggestion though
