hardest sub

The DD 99z subs are really hard hitting subs...I've done a 151.9 in a daily box in my mustang with a single 12 in the trunk it can do over 152dbs...not bad for one sub....i could gain a couple of dbs if i built it for spl but id rather be able to play music and enjoy listening to it...it gets low also it will shake the whole car

Of course, Nate Munsen hit a 169.7 with a single DD 9500, and less than 1 db less with several other subs (including, believe it or not, a W7) in the same install. This was with the older mic, so you would need to adjust that down several db's to compare to modern scores, but still an amazing score, and a much higher number than even your impressive score. The lesson learned? The install plays even more of a factor in over all performance, in terms of simple peak output, than does the raw driver itself. Education in the industry/hobby teaches a person to stop obsessing on one brand or model of driver, and focus more on maximizing the performance of whatever driver(s) you chose to use.
