H/O alternator questions

Another thing I was curious about is running 2 alternators, benefits/downfalls? Besides finding or building a custom dual alternator bracket, would running 2 stock alternators be a viable option or would it just be a better option all together to run 1 h/o alternator?

Yea I looked around online to see if I can figure out if my alternator is interchangeable with other vehicles bur didn't have much luck. I will keep searching though and make a couple calls around to see what u can find out. Just wasnt sure if there was some like common knowledge stuff out there I didn't know about when it comes to aftermarket h/o alternators. Like if there was a base model that was used and they configured it to match bolt patterns, belt types and such. Thanks for the info guys I do appreciate your help.

Running 2 would slightly lower your horsepower some.
Haha that would **** on a 1.8L 4 cylinder cruze. I know the cruze also has some different type of charging system. It is wired into the engine management to where it charges during deceleration or something like that to lower the drag on the engine and increase performance, mpg, hp.

I'm running two alternators on my 1.0 lt, 3 cyl Chevy sprint. It works perfect! The alts only draw hp when there is a load on them. I'm having better results with two 140 amp alts than I did with one 250 amp alt. I upgraded to alts almost twice the size of stock. Never had a failure in almost 5 years.

Be careful of cheap eBay alts. I've been using power master with great results. They're priced in the middle.
Good to know. I haven't made it to that stage of looking to purchase yet but just wanted to know what I was looking for if I had come across something in the meantime. I seem to have hit my stock electrical limit at around 1500 watts but I am doing the big 3 soon and upgrading the battery since that may be causing some of the problem as well, it is the stock factory battery the car came with over 4 years ago.

Yup big 3 and battery should help. I used a kinetic 1800 and power master 140amp alt for that power. I think those alts are under $200 and same with battery. More power than that and you're probably looking at some pricier upgrades.

Oh so your a mechanic this week.
Keep dem lies coming.....

You can believe anything you want. But just because you believe something does NOT mean it correlates well with the objective facts.

Wrong. Some can fit other vehicles moron. Do the google search.
I'm sure some maybe do, but not terribly prevalent!

From what I've read, LiFePO4 works with lead acid, LTO does not. I have only personally tried LiFePO4. I personally can't justify the extra hassle...
