Guy that robbed me and a coworker at gunpoint added me as a friend on facebook.

I don't know about his state, but in Illinois you can be fired at any time for no reason at all. We are an "at will" state.
TX is the same, but there is protection for wrongful termination due to BS reasons. An employer can fire you for whatever reason, but they better have proof of said reason. With the evidence he has, he could easily get his job back. If Walmart won't offer it back to him, he's entitled to grievance for wrongful termination.

EDIT: Someone already covered this...oh well.

They already said i could have my job back. Im not really torn up over this as its not really my main source of income anyhow. My main source would mostly be building boxes and doing installs and hustling ****. I did have a good time working there and helping people though, and look forward to going back.

I don't think you understand how "at will" states work. All he can do is speculate as to why he got fired. Companies don't even need a reason to fire you in our states, thus there is no such thing as "wrongful termination".
Could you take it to court and fight it? Probably, but odds are you won't win for that reason alone.

I would fight the "misconduct" charge though as you did nothing wrong.
They would have to specify this if brought to court. If it was 'misconduct', where are the notes in his employee file stating he was goofing off? When they fired him they took him through the ringer saying they thought he was in on it. That doesn't equate to 'misconduct'. It is hard to win cases like this, but it's also very ignorant of large employers to scoff at employees then leave their termination so open ended.

We were taught something in our business law classes when I was working on my BA degree. If you fire someone (even in at will states), you either give no reason, or you have documentation to back up whatever reason you claim. You can never use a baseless or non-documented reason to fire someone as a wrongful termination suit will eat it alive.

Crazy story.. and yeah, you cant trust hardly anyone =\

Ive always said its better to have one really really good friend you could trust your life with than a bunch that you hardly know. Applies to fb too, no point in having 6000 friends you dont know

I am sure facebook has some sort of IP records. It wouldn't be hard for the police to put an undercover agent to friend him and set up some sort of deal to buy or sell something either to find him.

And I would definitely shoot this by a lawyer and see if they would take the case. If it's easily winnable they'll take it and just take a chunk of the winnings, cus it sounds like a whole bunch of bullshit with them hiring you.

On a lulz note. you watching the security tape and having them fast forward reminds me of when in Spaceballs they watch the tape to see what happens next and they get to the part where they go into ludicrous speed and he flies into the ship and what not.
