Guy that robbed me and a coworker at gunpoint added me as a friend on facebook.

Heres a long story that started about 6 months ago when i was working at our local Walmart in the automotive/fishing/hunting dept. I was an "assosciate" which i basically just stood around and helped people, sold fishing licenses, etc. Great job. Made 9.25 and all the hours i wanted, but i only took part time.

I had worked there about a year, and on this particular night (july 1st) CSM asks me to cover garden center register while robert waters the flowers because the other lady had called out. I think i stood at the register from about 7-830pm texting and drinking soda and checked out a few people, while robert watered the flowers.

During that time period me and robert had both noticed this suspicious looking motherfucker walking around that looked like eazy E in all black with sunglasses and a bandana around his neck. We joked on dude about how ******* suspicious he looked and he just kept wandering around in and out of the store.

About 9pm rolls around me and robert are both at the register posted up. Dude comes up and gets a drink and sits it on the counter, pulls out 6 quarters and hands them to me to pay for the drink. Robert put in $1.50 in the register then after he rung it up and the drawer popped thats when it happened.

Dude pulls gun out of his left pocket, transfers it to his right hand while also cocking it to bring a round in the chamber (you could actually see on the overhead cam the round go into the slide when we looked at the tapes). I immediately recognize the gun as i used to own one. Colt 1911, .45. Seeing the 45 i immediately knew this guy was srs bsns so we best not **** around. Dude says "give me everything."

Robert looks at dude then pushes me out of the way and grabs all the cash outta the register and puts it in a bag. Starts to grab the quarters and etc dudes like "***** i dont want that bullshit, ill shoot your little ***". Dude picks up his drink and dips out. I was fine but a little shook up like wtf? Robert was shaking real bad and like he was about to cry. I walked to the door and the dude left on foot, noone saw him.

We called the store manager, took her over 20 minutes to call the cops because she thought we were joking. Cops get there, question us, yadda yadda. Accuse me of planning this and that and i wrote a statement and had to stay there until 1am (happy because i was on the clock getting OT)

Kept saying i was going to jail tonight blah blah blah, i just said hurry up and do whatever you gotta do bossman so i can go home. I ended up being placed under arrest for about an hour while they talked and i just sat in the chair like a ****, they went through my phone and etc. (Can they do that?) Anyway eventually dude comes in like youre free to go well call you if we need anything. They let robert go shortly after that.

Nashville Walmart garden center robbed :: WRAL.com

Authorities are searching for the man who robbed a Walmart in Nashville Wednesday night.
Nashville Police Chief Bill Creech said the robbery happened in the garden center of the Walmart at 1205 Eastern Ave. He said a man pulled out a gun and forced the cashier to give him an undisclosed amount of money.

There were no injuries.

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect was a 6-foot-tall black man who wore all-black clothing. He fled the scene in a powder blue Pontiac or Buick with 18 to 20 inch rims. The vehicle is believed to be a model made between 1980 and 1990.
On july 2nd i was fired mid-shift, no reason. Store manager said orders came from corporate office, but that he had no issues with me and i could have my job back if i re apply in 6 months. Filed for unemployment, the letter said i was fired for alleged misconduct, but not disqualified. Been getting around 200 a week unemployment since august (took 4 weeks to approve). WINNING.

Come today my mom emails me this story

The Rocky Mount Telegram

Police have arrested three suspects and are searching for another two in connection with a string of robberies at the Nashville Walmart.
Nashville police Lt. Joseph Corbett said Walmart employee Robert Mack Lynch Jr. enlisted the help of his girlfriend, Victoria Coley, her cousin, Tiara Whitehead, and two others to commit three robberies dating back to June.

Lynch, 20, of Rocky Mount was charged with embezzlement, filing a false police report and two counts each of conspiracy to commit felony larceny and felony larceny. Rodriguez Evans, 21, of Enfield was charged with two counts each of conspiracy to commit felony larceny and felony larceny. Coley, 21, of Rocky Mount was charged with one count each of conspiracy to commit felony larceny and felony larceny. Warrants have been obtained for Rocky Mount residents Whitehead, 21, and Keith Parker, 22, for one count each of conspiracy to commit felony larceny and felony larceny.

According to a press release, Lynch told police he was working as a cashier in the garden center at the store at 1205 Eastern Ave. when a gunman threatened him and made him empty the cash register. On Oct. 31 and on Nov. 14, a suspect snatched a cash register drawer from a sales counter before fleeing through the fire exit. Corbett said Lynch was working the day shift during the second and third robberies, which occurred those nights.

“We believed when we interviewed Robert Lynch in June that his statement was not credible,” Corbett said in a press release. “After comparing evidence collected from all three robberies, it was determined that Robert Lynch, who worked for Walmart, was involved each time.”

Corbett said police believe Parker committed the June robbery while Evans is suspected of snatching the register drawers.

“It was a tangled, tangled, tangled web of an investigation,” Corbett said.

He said Evans was arrested Nov. 23; Lynch was arrested and fired from Walmart for missing three days of work on Nov. 28; and Coley was arrested Nov. 30. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Whitehead and Parker are asked to contact Nashville police at 459-4121 or Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or
I immediatly recognize one of the guys "keith parker" tall *** black as a tire looking motherfucker. Come to find out a guy by the same name added me on FB some time ago, not sure when but i recognized it. I just approve all requests because its good for my business.

I would own WalMarts *** for firing you without basis, and using that BS that you were in on the robberies. You could get out a hell of a lot better than 200/week. Show the big dogs their employees are to be respected...

I don't know about his state, but in Illinois you can be fired at any time for no reason at all. We are an "at will" state.

understood but in this case it could be construed as wrongful termination.. He gets fired for allegedly helping with the crime and if anyone looks into it it would be hard for him to get a job due to it..

NC is an "at will" state as well. I talked with the NCESC and all they have on record is "misconduct"

I don't think you understand how "at will" states work. All he can do is speculate as to why he got fired. Companies don't even need a reason to fire you in our states, thus there is no such thing as "wrongful termination".

Could you take it to court and fight it? Probably, but odds are you won't win for that reason alone.

I would fight the "misconduct" charge though as you did nothing wrong.

He said in the first post he stood around at the register texting, that alone is against policy, aka misconduct, if they wanted to say that. He would never have any chance whatsoever with a lawsuit.

This is possible. I'm sure they probably have him on the security cameras goofing off. Definitely wouldn't help his case IF he brought it to court.
