gun control?

put the crack pipe DOWN. most or some democrats are "liberals." theyre the ones who are normally FOR gun control and want all of these laws prohibiting the carry and use of firearms.
you're getting caught up in terms...

the people we call "conservatives" support liberal fiscal policies and conservative social policies. the people we call "liberals" are the opposite... they support conservative fiscal policies and liberal social policies.

BUT... if you're going on the definition of liberalism, they should be against gun control. the concept of liberalism, and the group we know as liberals are altogether separate.

I am never disappointed and always entertained, by people in the lounge. My game never changes, but retards always fall into it, even if it has already been exposed in the same thread.

Wasn't there a point in time when the democrats were called republicans and the republicans were called democratic republicans or something like that? The modern names are refersed of their origional intent.

^^ just for you buffalohed... i doubt that anyone else in the lounge will recognize it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have read through most of this...

Honestly, do people really think allowing more guns to be carried by more people is the solution?

...

Seriously, putting more guns out there is going to make people safer?

...
No, most people don't think more people carrying guns is the solution to gun violence, but they still think people should be allowed to carry guns.

How can anyone expect to come to an agreement on this matter when the different sides aren't even arguing the same thing?

See my earlier post:

The way I see it there are two different issues here.

1. Gun Control

2. Stopping Violence in the US

They are related, but only to an extent. I don't think gun control has a positive impact on levels of violence in the United States. The issue of gun control is one of the right to bear arms, but more importantly and one that people seem to forget is the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The right to life means the right to defend yourself against murder.

Stopping violence is a separate issue. Gun control is not the answer, education and law enforcement is. If anything, it is my belief that while the right to carry concealed weapons may not directly lower rates of violence, it does provide people an opportunity to lessen their risk of being a victim. On a large scale the numbers may not reflect this but it gives people the choice on a personal level, which is what this nation is all about... supposedly.

Mixing the two issues will only lead to misunderstanding and arguments. Unfortunately a good chunk of the country is naive enough to think that they are one in the same and that more gun control is the answer to violence.

Do you really think we should be waking up and instead of suit and tie, is flak jacket and helmet?

Seriously, putting more guns out there is going to make people safer?

If this guy (VT) lost it and went nuts, do you really in your right mind think that by giving the opportunity to more people to carry weapons, that this will not happen more often?

Lastly, what direction are we taking our country/society when we feel we need to all carry weapons to protect ourselves, just like savage third world countries?

For real, think about what some of you are saying, and don't have the instant "who the hell are you to tell me I can't carry a weapon" attitude. The solution is to work towards a safer society not a more dangerous one where people could have shoot outs at random times during the day in public. Do you really want to move towards a vigilante style life?

And these stats people like to pull about about legal weapons cause less deaths than illegal ones, is f'n bull. People are still killing people, and yes they can learn bombs or chemicals, but those take knowledge and training which many of todays killers don't have the capacity to do or the money to do so. To end my rant, I am not telling anyone to do anything, just trying to provoke advanced thought (which I know is a lost cause on this website.)
Right now 48 states allow people to carry a firearm. How come none of these shootouts are happening now? People could start shooting at anytime they wanted, but its just not gonna happen with law abiding citizens.

In the second bolding part, he's aluding to a socieity where carrying firearms is thoroghly encouraged, where everyone would have a gun.

I would belive that this violence does occur in certain urban areas.

Seriously, how many people actually have a concealed weapon license? And how many actually carry it?

In all my years, and all my friends I could count less then 5 people have a license to carry a weapon. Oh whoops, forgot to mention 3 of them are cops.

Adding more tools that can cause death, to the population is not going to solve a **** thing.

I do & I always carry...always.

Putting more firearms out there itself is no solution, however it can serve as a deterrent. Restricting firearms is only going to effect those that are responsible with firearm. A lot of people carry every day that have a CCW and nothing happened.

One moron shows up and does something like this and suddenly people start looking at guns and those that carry as if they are the problem? I saw some jack@ss talking on the news yesterday trying to blame hollow point ammunition as if THATs the problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

They just need to enforce the laws currently in place. VT security sucked, and if they had armed security guards in place, chances are less people would have been killed because someone would have killed that guy before he raked up 30+ kills.

The only thing I was suggesting is letting those with a CCW carry on school grounds, or just increase the security.

Another example, I find it retarded when I see stores that have a no firearms allowed sign outside. Yeah like a **** sign is going to change someones mind from trying to rob the place //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
