Group 75 battery upgrade

I'm looking for a good Group 75 battery for under the hood. I can't go any bigger the due to the hood and battery tray.

I had a Optima Yellow top for about 4 mos. and it crapped out (maybe I just got bad one who knows)

But I have since upgraded to a 200A alt. and I am currently running a old *** no name battery.

I am only running one battery right now and would like to keep it that way for now.

if you got a sams club check to see if they have energizer agm batteries or sear's diehard platinum. also autozone platinum is agm.

if you want to spend the money look at xs power

also i agree with this pic below as optima has a lot of unused space.

Yeah just looking for a good replacement. I don't have a problem with optima
I have the same g75 battery and have had problems with optima as well. I've read good things about the diehard platinum it's a stout battery with good warranty u can pick one up from sears... But if your wallet allows I'd go with an xs power D3400 It clears height wise in my car I would only have to slighty modify the tray cuz the battery is about 1/2" longer. But the amp you have the diehard platinum should be enough.

X2 Power @ Batteries Plus

Part Number is SLI75AGM

It's a nice option made by East Penn Manufacturing AKA Deka

Optima is now made in Mexico and we see alot more warranty returns on optima products now compared to when they were made in Colorado.

I won't recommend Optima anymore due to this reason.

Do you have a link for the battery I looked on the website and didn't find it. I have a Batteries Plus locally so that would be a good option.

not sure i tried looking

if your willing to go to Bristol just south there is a sears auto you could get one of their platinum's. looks to be at the mall down there off of 81 and 421. im looking at this threw google maps so im not to sure how well you can get down there.

if looks to be if you buy on line and pick up in store you save 10% so it would be like 190ish for the battery.

If you call your local store they will be able to quote you price and availability.

Ask them for a SLI75AGM

Tell them it's a East penn manufactured x2power yellow top Absorbed Glass Mat battery that should be in their base inventory assortment.

It could also be labeled Duracell Procell Platinum AGM in that market. But that SLI75AGM part will still apply. We are in the middle of a branding transition

I have no idea why that part is not on our site. I emailed our category management team on it so we'll see what they say.

It shouldn't be any more than $150-170 & has a 3yr. Warranty

I could grab you one at my cost but after shipping it would prob. be close to your local cost.

What options around that size you recomend that has dual posts I need either dual top posts or top post and side post together for what I'm doing I was gunna do another yellowtop but rather save the cash

That battery also comes in a Dual terminal configuration...

SLI75AGMDT

the DT at the end of the P/N denotes both the top and side posts..

I always recommend Dual Terminals for Car Audio Applications. I've seen many a side post 75 or 78 leave someone stranded because of a loose ground after someone decided they wanted to stack 327 ring terminals on the same standard side terminal bolt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Don't buy a yellow top bro. There is alot more surface area and plate capacity in a square footprint compared to the spiral cell configuration on an optima. Not to mention the warranty issues since the start of the Mexico manufacturing. I saw a blue top today from 5 yrs. ago with the old aurora Colorado mfg. sticker still holding 200CCA's above the rated capacity.

To put that into perspective I've saw 20+ red/ yellow and blue tops from recent production in Mexico on a core pallet just last week.

*Granted this is in our consolidated warehouse for 12 of our stores

Odyssey are also nice if money is not a factor.

They are OEM to all Ferrari's imported into North America now if that tells you where they are at in the game. I sourced one for a big wig client of mine for his Morgan Aero last year and Odyssey was in that when he ordered it as well and that's a 100K plus exotic roadster.

Either way our East Penn/Deka made Duracell AGM/X2 power branded stuff or Odyssey are the way to go IMHO
