gross trunk space crown vic?

i figured you had a vic based on your response... do vics follow the standard sub back port back setup like most trucks, because i see alot of sub up port back in vics
I plan on doing a sub up port back because I still want to keep my spare, and I cant fit a 15" firing back. I think that back shelf starts at 14" high IIRC

Personally, ive yet to do it in my Vic. Ive done sub back port back plenty of times. The last two I had, (SS RL-p 15" and DC Sound Lab LVL 4 18") I fliped the box up and had it sub up port up and got some interesting results.

Port back, sub back seem to give the "deeper" sounding bass, prob have something to do with it unloading on that rear wall. Sub up port up seem to have more output and "hit" in the cabin, but alot more trunk rattle so thats something to consider as well.

Im positive sub up port back would give good results, Towncar on here has a Vic he ran a single HDC3 18 in that configuration and he loved it. I know a guy that has (4) L7 12s like that, subs up, port back and he loves it too.

Assuming I dont go 4th order, thats the next box for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

In my other car(06 Hyundai Sonata) i have a single 18 firing up with ports back and it sounds great and gets plenty loud for a daily. As long as its built properly and u test the box a lil bit to fine tune everything most bigger trunk cars have success with this sort of enclosure.

The biggest box you can fit in that well space is probably about 9 cubes if you used Aero ports. If you used a slot port it would probably be closer to 8 max after port displacement.
x2 around 8 to 9 cubes max. My box is around 8 cubes net and is a pain to get in and out of the trunk. I wouldn't go over 8 cubes slot ported. Sub back port back is louder than sub up port up. Although you might have some problems with your trunk latch. I tried both when I had cvr's. Havent tried sub up port back though. If I could do it all over I would probably do a 4th order bandpass box ported throught the rear deck (I recommend this).

i thought about that, but i haven't gotten the car yet so the wheels haven't been turning too fast in the brain yet. I really want to run 2 15's, either SA-15's or sdc2.5's either combo would be on my bxi2006, i figure 1800w would serve either set of subs justice, but the SA-15's definately require less space than the sdc2.5's once i get the car ill really start scheming

You should have room for either setup you choose.
