I know that there are many amps in this range out there. I'm looking for the one that will only use about 15 amps and power a sub. I don't have a lot of battery power available.

There are several new compact amplifiers on the market that eliminated the old power supply design and have much higher efficiency.
RF has their PBR 300x1 or 300x4 versions that are a few years old now.

So far the massive bx2 looks the part. Has anyone used it before? Any other small amps have an OEM auto sensing music remote turn-on?

I'd get the apsm 1150, 300 rms and a small footprint. Only con with it is the gain control is under the amp so when you mount it make sure you have your gain set where you want to keep it.
