Grand Cherokee Build options...Tax time baller

Alright, so I've committed and built a wall. 7 12s on a vfl 150.1. I'm happy with how it sounds, but not what I expected. It's sealed off, but I can't pull hairtricks. I'm tuned to ~36 in 19 cubes net.

I've had this thing playing for about a month, now I really want to be able to do hair tricks. Metering well doesn't really matter to me.

I'm really looking at getting a single SP4 18 and throwing it in about 8 cubes. I've read about it's ability to turn a vehicle into a "hurricane" and whatnot. But I know there are more options out there. Anyone able to chime in as far as subs go?

Going to a single 18 from 7 12''s wont solve anything' what subs do u have. Flat wall or what' is it? I'm assuming its a b-piller build and pics please.

Assuming the wall is a few layers thick and the sides of the box aren't flexing it looks like you have decent port area. You might could seal that off better stuffing some pipe insulation (looks like pool noodles, can be had at Home Depot) in the cracks.

Sadly you've pigeon holed yourself into a box that looks decent with holes of 7 12's and you have really bottom of the barrel 12's in there. I'd say throw another amp on there, but at 250W rated power handling you'd probably be breaking subs often. From here can you afford to upgrade ALL subs so that you can add more power? Sounds horribly expensive, but if you like the sound of the box it might be a good option.

A higher end pair of 18's should do really nicely in that airspace and would allow you to double power if you can just replace the front of the box. I doubt you would gain from replacing what you have with a single 18 in a box in the cargo area without increasing power.

I'm not thinking I can gain much if any output with a single 18. I'm thinking of buying them one at a time. My goal would be 3 by Texas Heatwave.

And no, its not perfectly sealed. I've stuffed several pieces of foam and what not behind it. It's all braced on the outside with 2x4s.

Basically my question is if there are some more options as far as subs go that could do well to move some air. I'm not trying to do a vs thread. Seriously looking at my options here.

I'm thinking since I bought them from a shop and they're warrantied I could get away with busting a couple. I'm thinking of an AA 3800. Or a BC3500.

Not like that's going to be a dramatic difference though. Bare minimum to even be an audible gain would be to step up to a 5K, the 150.1 is like a "2200W" amp. Hope you have enough electrical...

IF the subs don't break doubling power should put a smile on your face.

Got any videos of this playing? What ohm are you wired to?
Wired to .57.

And I wish I could afford a 5k. I thought about getting 2 fsd 2600s and strapping. But I have an odd number of single voice coil subs. It'll be weird. And I have the electrical as far as batts and wiring, but no ho alt. Not yet anyway.
