thanks... well i think it will be just what i need... someone told me that their brother had that sub and they liked it and the guy said he's been using pioneer subs for the last 4 years so i figured it be worth $60... now someone else who says they sound good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i'm not sure if i should install it myself or not? i'm sure i could read some articles on how to, but do you think it would be better to take it to a shop and spend $80 to have an install warranty? or would that even do anything?

If you've never installed anything before, I would get it done by pro's. Until you feel comfortable doing it yourself!

The old Pioneer subs 12" silver ones....My brother has 2 12" Premiers.....LOUD PONDAGE with an ORION amp!

Unless you know nothing about car audio I would recommend you do it yourself. Its easy, fun, and you won't have to deal with shit when the shop messes up your stuff. From what I have experienced, local shops don't know their *** from a sub.

well, unless there is a GOOD write-up on how to do it, then i think i will go to a shop... this shop is pretty reputable though... i do agree that most probably don't know as much as they should...

update: my neighbor (electrician but in the auto scene) and i put in everything today with a wal-mart scoche amp kit and speaker wire...

t'was 8 gauge amp kit, and 12 gauge speaker wire... took about two hours since he knew what he was doing, and i read some tutorials so i knew a little bit...

i had an appointment scheduled for a shop to do it, but they wanted $90 plus tax... and i cancelled it...

sounds: i couldn't ask for any more... my seats vibrate and its pretty clean... the enclosure suits the sub, i mean ported it would be louder im sure, but its fine like it is...

the gain is a little bit less than half way up and for now the mx (alpine 9827) is on with bass set to -7 for a few days to break it in...

should i worry about break in or what? some say no, some say yes? let me know...
