Got my New Alt today

I got a Motor City Reman. Alt today. Bech tested it and it did 200 amps max around 90 at idle. The bad part is that i got to wait till chritmas for it because my parnets are getting me it. Motor City Reman. is an awesome company. They replyed to everyone of my emails withlin an hour and answered all of my questions fully. Do not hesitate buying from them

i have some questions about HO alts:

-do they have to be vehicle specific(i can fab up a bracket to make it fit, i'm a good welder)

-is there different types, like diff amounts of wires going to them?

-can i just get any old alt and jam it in to my taurus?

Might want to hold up saying they are so great til you place it on the car and see how it holds up to the strain of an audio system.. Not saying it wont but just so ppl dont go out to buy them and then they might be lemons... Thats one heck of a nice xmas present though

i bought a 165amp from them back bout 4-6 months ago and havent had a prob with mine yet..and yea im sure you could fab a braket if you got the skills we had to shave off just alil bit off my braket nothin serious though

yes they do make direct bolt on units. As mine was a 200 amp direct bolt on for a 3.1l

Different types- They had like a 200 amp and a 140 amp direct bolt on units for my car. They reccomend doing the big 3 upgrade. I did mine with o ga. wire.

- Mine takes 3 bolts to take off and losen the belt. Simple to do.

I was originally going to get one through excessive amperage. Nate quoted me one for the same price. But it only came with a 3 month warranty. I know he makes good alts but a 3 month warranty was not enough for me. So REQ on alt from these guys and loved it so i decided to check them out. The offered me a 200 amp alt just like Nate for the exact same price. But Motor City Reman's came with a 2 year warranty.

hope it works out with ya monte, those guys are great to deal with. the will talk to ya and help you through the install i bet. i havnt had a chance to bench my alt, but ive had no dimming problems as of yet. mine works like a charm.

eaither will get you in contact. if they dont have the item listed you need- email them and ask if they can get one and re-wire it or somthing- im sure they can hook you up.

ill get my alt benched when i take it out and put back the stock one. i still gotta find out if i can fab up a bracket to fit it in my saturn

hopefully it will go. im not to psyced on getting another 160amp alt for that **** car =P
