That should work, may be just a little on the small side. You gotta consider bracing displacement, port displacement, as well as sub displacement, but I think you could squeeze it.here is what i came up with.... 15in H, 13in D, 53in W..... 1/2 Gross 5.06 C.F, 3/4 Gross 4.63 C.F...... it says i need 1.75 C.F for each sub.... will what i came up with work? like i said i never built a ported box before... Thanks!
I for sure wouldnt do that. Just let it be a little on the small side. Power, polyfill, and tuning will deal help tweak the box, but building it out of 1/2" just isn't too smart. stick with 3/4" for sure!yeah so im sort of aiming on using 1/2 wood so i can have a little extra for the port, sub, and bracing
Good stuff...ok thanks now ill start with 3/4! now this whole tuning thing it says i need 30hz i came out with 32hz but the port is 1.5in wide.... does that soind right?
Good stuff...And if I am not mistaken, you want 12 square inches of port for every cubic feet the box is. So, that would be on the very small side. Since your box is 15" tall, the port height will actually be 13.5", times that by 4" and you should be good... And tuning is very subjective. If you really want it to be more loud, tune to around 35 or 36. I personally like to tune lower, more around 30, but I am not looking to be super loud, I like the deep, low bass. A good thing is, though, is the higher your tune, the less box the port uses.
