got a ticket for unreasonable noise-vehicle...

Ive been pulled over once. I was like "Ya I know why you pulled me over, my music was to loud" goes back to his car and comes back "Since you were honest im not giving you a ticket, but keep your shit down".

In NYC. I pled not guilty and sent it in. Waiting for a court date, AT CRIMINAL COURT!! Give me a break. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif The cop pulled me over and I turned my radio off as soon as the flashing lights came on. He looked at my stereo and said that my music was too loud. I really didn't say much. Then he went to his car and came back with a summons. When I go to court and try to fight it I am going to say that he had no way of measuring the db's because he had no meter. I will say that LOUD is subjective and that without a meter how would he know how loud my radio was...Any other suggetions?

Anybody's been in this situation?
Well although some people might disagree you are correct it is subjective BUT.... I am sure they have a certain amount of feet law. So he prob was at a few hundred feet and could still hear it VERY well. Kinda like you might say it is subjective. But if a cop DID NOT clock you in a 10mph neighborhood but you were doing 60 and he just seen you. He could pull ya over and cite you with reckless driver and say "you were going way to fast" as opposed to giving a speed there is a point at which it is obviously breaking the law

they dont need a meter... the judge will laugh at u if u said that. the law varies place to place but in most cases if a cop can hear ur car 25ft or more away its too loud and u can get a ticket.
you may be better off to try saying it wasnt even hooked up. or you didnt have anything in there.

there is no proof of what the cop saw at the time.

factory stereos can get you in trouble these days. most places if the cop can hear it 10ft from the vehicle they can get you for it.
where are you guys getting these numbers from? 25ft, 10ft, you can hear a person talking from that distance, definitely a stock stereo. 65, 100ft i can understand but if i lived in a town where noise ordinance was so extreme that you have to whisper in public then id move.

OP, your only chance of getting off is if the cop doesnt show up. most ordinance laws are written so it is up to the discretion of the police officer.

Why is it that a Harley Motorbike go screaming by my house with an exhaust louder then alan dante's car and not get a ticket? but yet we can if our stereo is to loud.. Come on people what is this world coming to....

i asked a cop this once. he said 'i dont make the laws, i just enforce them...'

fukin fatass

fight ittt!! throw in a shtty amp and posibly shtty subs, and take vids and tell the cop it is not loud at all and you can barely hear it out your car, and that the cop pulled you over an noticed them and decided to blow that up!! haha

but sucks for all you, here in nevada its 50 yards, the first two days my buddy got his system he was pulled over twice and cops are chill out here, it's nice

I feel retarded when I play my music loud at a stoplight. Everyones like staring at me and shit. Just turn it down brother.
Ha TRUE!!!

I'm not a kid anymore, it's as bad as that old bald dude trying to be hip at the club. You dont look cool to anyone but yourself.

I got a sound ticket in a station wagon with the stock stereo playing the radio soft on my way to pay a speeding ticket by a bicycle cop. He scared the shit outta me when he rolled up on his peddly bike, I didnt know what the heck it was and I pulled my hand back cause I was gonna punch him cause I thought someone was trying to attack me. Needless to say he wasnt to thrilled... and showed up in court for my ticket which I lost.

Pulled all the BS about factory stereo, decibel levels, all that crap. Local ordnance says it's under the lawenforcement officer's discretion as to what is too loud.

Never got a ticket for my system though, I only got a ticket for a POS factory stereo playing lame radio music SOFT.

What pisses me off is the stupid harley's with straight drag pipes that actually HURT your ears when they go by. A loud stereo may be annoying but it wont cause physical inner ear pain to the people you drive by. A **** harley will pierce your ears and the cops look the other way around here. I wish discovery channel never made motorcycles popular again. 1) I cant stand the lame *** posers who think they are automatically a hard *** cause they have a harley shirt, 2) I can't stand driving around the inexperianced retards who drive a bike like a race car with 16" brembo brakes and tailgate when I'm going 10 MPH over, 3) the real idiots make their exhaust ignorant redneck stupid loud and think it's cool to cause other people's ears to hurt.

Like others said, you can fight the ticket and hope the cop dont show, but if he does show, pull out your check book.

If you wanna annoy others with loud bass and not get caught, drive a POS with a big system. If a cop hear's loud bass, they will assume it's the car with 22's all tinted out dropped 2" off the ground. They wont suspect a rusted station wagon with a nerdy *** driving it, if it's loud and you turn it down in time, they wont have a clue who it was since it turned down before they see you in your POS and they are lookin for a pimp ride

i 2nd or 3rd or whatever that

are you fighting the $289.00 ticket? Shit!! that's a lot of $$$...
I learned my lesson with the speeding ticket already, I fought it thinking the PIGARELLY wasn't gonna show, well he did and I lost. I wasn't aware that if you loose you cant go to traffic school anymore. DAM I was mad at myself and now lets see how much my insurance goes up:mad: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

they are $285 in cleveland, i've had 3 of them all were in the day time but i've had history of police harassment. the 1st time i did have it loud but i was in a parking lot in the corner of a shopping plaza BEHIND the stores playing an instrumental and the cop zoomed over and gave me a ticket. the 2nd time i was pulled over and i didn't even have my subs hooked up the car next to me was bumpin and the cop pulled me over and saw my subs since my backseat was done (W/O WIRES!). 3rd time i had my windows up and had in tthe trunk. They pulled me over for music and said my tint was illegal. they tested it with a rigged meter that said it was 20% all the way around, i went to the station the next day and it passed at 51% in the front 50% is legal but they didn't drop the sound ticket and no cop was present for any of these tickets.

because politicians have harleys. they don't have loud stereos

DUDE. CALL A GOD **** LAWYER AND ASK HIS ADVISE INSTEAD OF SITTING AT HOME WITH UR DICK IN YOUR HAND ASKING A BUNCH OF ****EN AUDIO BUFFS

sorry if that came off a little strong, or brute, but ffs man....make a phone call and ask the opinion of someone with legal experience. ****......

Your best chance is if the officer doesn't show up but I doubt that.

In addition, sound ordinances vary by county or city, zoning aka residential or commercial and fines can go up or down depending on location, some counties have times when that fine go even higher aka not a good idea to play your music at 3 a.m. in a residential section.

You'll look not so smart if you go there and say he couldn't hear my system from say 50ft but you where in a residential section and he only needs to hear from 40ft.

If you plan on fighting the case you need to know the particular ordinance in your city or county covering it.

I am going to say though if the officer does show up you'll be fined and further punishment depending on the judge. After all, its basically what the cop says since the judge just looks at you like your trying to get out of a ticket.
