being almost 16, thankyou for opening my eyes. I probably wouldn't get a ticket for anything except sound violation one the setup is done

ik what u mean. I'm also 17. drove right by a cop right when my car hit a big bass note. didn't see him parked cuz there was a big trunk in front of me. he had no idea wtf just happened lol. Motorcycles are definitely louder than any sub/s I've ever heard going down the road and from a greater distance.

That's due to the tone of the sound. A 100 db sound at 400 hz is gonna be perceptively louder than a say 50 hz note.

Then reciprocate what he told you about the 50ft, and how he figured the amount of supposed feet you were from him in traffic with other noise. I really would like to see you go to court and have him show how he calculated the distance accurately. Like already stated, he probably won't even show to court for the ticket. You need to look up sound ordnances in you area, or area you were driving through.

Set up a court date. Make the cop show up. If he doesn't even show up, iirc, the case gets thrown out immediately.

it automatically gave me a date i didn't even ask him he just said go to court this date if you can't make it this is how. blah blah

Not necessarily, still have to plead not guilty when the judge calls your name. Well, at least here in MD. I've seen people stand up and give an excuse and still have to pay fines, etc, rather than just saying not guilty.

Go in before the listed date and say you want to contest the ticket. You may have to tell the judge that on the date you recieved and the date will be reset and the cop is suppose to show. If you go before your listed court date and contest it they may be able to do it all in one court day(easyer on you)

You know the law. You broke the law. Pay the fine. Simple as that.

A few years ago a thread like this would be 5 pages full of people saying you broke the law and need to man up. You gotta pay to play.

Now it is a seems it is a bunch of people uneducated about the law and are just trying to weezle out of taking responsibility for their actions. It is people like that that are making the hobby of car audio illegal. Man up and stop being a punk.

A punk really? He had loud music he didnt rob an old lady. Seriously thats a retarded statement, if the cop has no way of determining this then it should be brought to the court attention that an officer is throwing out tickets for whatever he feels like. PERIOD
