got a noise violation ticket, need advice

im in hastings, ne, and have 2 DC audio level 4 fully powered in a ranger. They are definitely loud. I got pulled over cuz some jack*** followed me to my buddy's shop just to call the cops on me. I was NOT playing them when the cop pulled me over. (in fact, the cop didnt see/hear me playing them at all). He wrote me a city ordinance violation and now I gotta appear in court. I asked him, how can you give me a ticket if I didnt have them on when you pulled me over. He said, it's because we've had numerous complaints against my vehicle. Is that legal? Cna he give me a ticket for something he didnt witness, just by what a few people have said? This is the first time I've been pulled over in years, and first for any system ever.

(P.S. it prolly didnt help my case I had DTP- Disturbin' Tha Peace on my rear window lol.)

edit: he also said that a disturbing the peace ticket is a $500 fine, and he did me a favor by just giving me the city ordinance violation. No. doing me a favor would be a warning lol

I framed my ticket when i got one lol, you should try go to court for it, if you have time, most cops dont show up and they dont the judge throws away the ticket

in va the leo must see the crime or there has to be substantial proof for an arrest/ticket and even then it will most likely be thrown out of court because of a lack of leo witnessing it. so fight it and if you have to appeal it.

yes to the above 2 posts....in fact, I am thinking that if da coppa didn't witness/hear it, there may have to be a specific complaintant who took out a warrant, so if u go to court and they don't depose them..... winnar

Show up in court and demand to question your witnesses. AFAIK we are supposed to have the right to face our accusers in court.

But its a black truck with red flame pinstripe, black and red rims and disturbin tha peace on the back window lol.
