good value 10 inch sub

I would like to spend around 75 to 150. I found the boston acoustic g5's for 150 and have heard good things about them. I am looking for something with a good balance of sq and bass. Another brand I have looked at are Image dynamics, which seem to have a good rep. Currently am running a Jl w3 something I believe but are not impressed with it and cost too much. I am open to any suggestions around this price range for a quality sub. Also, if someone could give a short list of good sub brands it would be much appreciated. I haven't looked at car audio stuff in a while and things change, so you never know if one company still produces good stuff or not. Thanks.

I always wanted to try the G5's if I was going to do something along these lines I'd probably go that route. Something cheaper like a kicker cvr would do nicely too, not sure how much power you are looking for but bang for buck a 10" cvr is a nice budget sub IMO

ID and Boston are both good choices. I'd go with the ID as my first choice for a 10" SQ application. If it was a 12'', Incriminator Audio Flatlyne, as i'm not sure on the availabity of IA's 10'' subs yet.

I looked at the re se10's and they seem great but have read on other forums that re subs have recently not been as good because of new management. I still am looking into it though. The audioque sub does look impressive as well, so will be checking that out. Any others that I might want to look at? Also, I am going to need an amp, but are again trying to find something on a budget. I checked craigslist and a guy has a phoneix gold rsd 300.1 for about 60 but aren't really sure if I want to get one used. If anyone knows some good value amps that could power a sub with 400-600 watts rms that would cool as well.

I don't think RE has new management, I know I heard they moved their build house to china but I haven't heard that one.

Mach 5 IXL 10'' might be just outside your budget, but supposedly a very nice 10'' for the price. Look into DC Sound Lab as well. I've had the 10'' lv4xl for a couple weeks now and am very impressed with it. I'm sure they make a 10'' model in your price range that will suit your needs.
