the dayton HO is a moderately priced, great performing SQ driver(with some balls if ported). the 10 does best in .7 cubic feet net(so after displacement of sub and port) tuned to 30hz and lightly stuffed with polyfill with as little as 6 sq inches of port area.
it is a really efficient driver especially when ported. it takes almost nothing to get this sub to have decent output. i had it on about 350 or so watts and it got plenty loud for me, sometimes to loud to blend well with music. just dial it down a hair and it'll easily blend with a properly setup front stage. now on the 620 watts i have now, it can get craaazy loud. i do have a hatch though and am not big into spl, but more into SQ.
the sub sounds very tight any punchy and will keep up with anything you throw at it. it absolutely loves fast double bass and plays it with authority and a good deal of impact. throw on some rap or some stuff with some lows and it loves it as well. has plenty of output down low and can actually make my steering wheel and sun visors shake quite a bit on the right songs. it plays jeezy's hypnotize very well with the 30hz box tuning. i had a treo ssi in a huge as box before this and this thing compares to it in output, but it kills the treo in SQ. the dayton can blend very very well and can be crossed over pretty high if needed as well. it makes my rsd comps sound huge. sound like i'm running some massive 8" mid-basses in the doors.
really amazing what kind of sound can come out of this thing in only .7 cuft ported!
