I don't know if this has ever asked.Can the MTX/9500 Series Subs be used for SQ? I have 2/Eclipse~Ti's/12"~*Brand New/never used* 88120~DVC~4Ohm,bought a few years back.They seem to be "Locked Up"/ .

I was "looking" at the 4~Ohm DVC MTX.

There will be a Kicker~ZR/1000/Bridged to each Sub.Thank You for Your Honesty/Knowledge(about the subs)Time/Help and Replies,in Advance.

Well...I still need to see if my Ti's are Repairable.He says it seems to be with the Binding Posts.If they're fixable w/new posts....Than I'll keep them.

I paid close to $1000.00 for the pair....So to just give them away,is not possible.

I've Heard AND Read the MTX's could be used for SQ...but need more proof from others who may sell or use them.Thank You.

I've listened to them and their tonal quality is much to be desired. But that is in one install. They are an SPL oriented woofer. But then agian so are L7's and there are SQ installs with them. IMO it is much better to start with a woofer that better lends itself to sound quality. Your Eclipse subs should be fixable. If Eclipse will not fix them take the motors off and send them to TCsounds to have a whole new top assembely built for them. TCsounds in the OEM manufacturer for your TI's IIRC.

Or you could sell the motors on the forum and buy something like a Stereo Integrity Magnum. They are my personal favorites at the time. You can buy them from Low-Hz.com. There are many members here who use them.

If you are looking to stay ''mainstream'' I would look at JL Audio. The W6v2 is an EXCELENT sound quality woofer.

I had 4 of the 9500's in my cutlass and sounded nice when they where low, but I was also in the mid 150s with them, so after about 150, they sounded pretty bad. They are more geared for spl, but given the right install can sound good as well.
