Good display for daylight?

Hi. A couple of years ago I bought a Pioneer DEH-4400HD. You cannot read the display at all in daylight. I hate it!

Is this true of many of today's radios? I need to buy one for my mom's car, and don't want to get another nighttime only display!

The best display for daylight I've seen was on a panasonic radio. But I think they've left the US market.

Nope. I have dark tint.

Pioneer has changed to a brighter display with a wider viewing angle on some single DIN models. They still wash out in direct sunlight.
