Good clamp on the famed AP mini.

I don't know how may times I have to trot this picture out, but AP's might seem like they do power when they're SET clean, but they start distortion just as soon as they're loaded down.

i understand and im not here to argue or back AP. my real point was i dont see need in making continueous post about it. we ALL know what to expect but people are still going to buy them either way. it just seems like everyone would realize its a waste of time preaching.

but while your in here, are you refering to all of audiopipes amps to do this or just the APSM's?

Well... as long as people feel the need to talk or ask about them, I will feel the need to advise against them.

I do not like AP in general, but the AP series ones are much better amps. But that's not saying a whole lot. The AP series ones aren't terribly efficient or clean either, but they're better than the stupid mini's.

ok, the reason i asked is because i see these newer looking model amps floating around, they say "APCL-1500d". the case itself to looks better IMO. not saying the guts are better by any means, just the case. just curious seeing you pretty much know every amp available lol, if you had seen these.

im not saying they dont because ive never used skar, thats just all the "here say". as far as ap goes, no it will not do rated. honestly ive seen a clamp of one but they had a "nuclear power plant" for a electrical system>(2 350a tenny alts 6 runs knu 1/0 OFC, 10 c&d batts @ 125 ah each), and they got 1274 rms "CLEAN" from the apsm. i know this clamp means nothing because to you its here say. again i dont really like ap, yes i really think its junk, BUT i think its "junk" for a good price IMO. $125 shipped for 1274 rms to is a pretty good deal. again not everyone will get that power clean clean

The more its put out there the less they will get recommended and it might save somebody from buying them.

Those made by ZED amps where grossly overrated. So yes they are still bad.

Their output was about half rated, but they still do good, clean power. Not to mention they're usually cheap because they're Boss. Zed didn't make "bad" amps. Why does the rating matter if they're still solid performers? That's like saying a DD M3b is superior to a Sundown SAZ3500. They clamp roughly the same numbers, but since the DD is "rated" at 2400 and actually puts out 3800, it's a "better" amp, when in reality they're both about the same quality.

I'm 38, bro. Been at this since age 12. I have seen it. Who gives a fuck if something is overrated? Find out what an amp does clean and use it accordingly, simple as that. Why get on here and make a soap opera of it?

well bash massive they came out with the amp first now there is 10+ of the same amp with diff names on them.

Whats funny about that too is that nobody questions the massive amps when they are essentially the same amp.

I bash those nano's all the time, horrible little amps.

I ran the 5 channel for about 6 months and hated that POS, but the older subs were ok.

So you dont see how this garbage has runned anything? Not everybody knows what they really do. Just look at CL, does that not make you a bit ashamed to do what we do? Thats how the general population sees us. They dont see the talent and science that goes into it
