My mom wants a cheap system for her new car. She doesn't want to spend any more than $300, but I'm trying to keep it around $250 for her. So far, I've got in mind, an RE RE10, Phoenix Gold R2.0:1, I already have the wiring, besides the RCA's, Phoenix Gold RSD 5.25" component set (powered by headunit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif ), and some Pioneer TS164P 6.5" dual cone speakers (I already have these, and have no use for them.) Not sure on the head unit yet, probably find something on eBay and bid on it if it's cheap.

RE RE10 (With sealed prefab) = $60 shipped

Phoenix Gold R2.0:1 = $70 shipped

Phoenix Gold RSd5cs = $80 shipped

Pioneer TS-164P = Free

Wiring (4 gauge) = Free

RCA's = $14 shipped

How's this looking so far? I might just get her to buy a Pioneer DEH-1900MP, which would work perfect for her.

Once I can get some small amps, I'll give her one to power the RSd's, but for now head unit is the power. If anyone has some suggestions, and/or wants to sell me something, please either PM me, or post what you got here.

lol why would your mom want a system?
Well, not really a system, but something better than what was in there. She bought it used, and it had some 8" home audio speakers, and an Awia deck. It sounds like crap.

You can get some pretty cheap Profile refurbs from here: http://www.profilecaraudio.com/amplifiers.htm
Also I'm upgrading the HU in the GF's car next week and will have an 8month old Pioneer DEH-4700mp that I'll let go for $60 shipped. PM me if you're interested and I'll send some pics...
I'm definitely interested, but I'm wanting to get this done for her asap, so the sooner you have it out, the more I might actually get it for her.

I actually think running the PG RSd components will sound like crap on HU power. The PG comps are known to be power hungry, so I just don't see how they will sound good with 20 watts of power. If you have to, skip the sub and amp, and spend about $80-$90 for an amp for the comps. And is there any way possible to fit 6.5" speakers in there instead of 5.25"?
