ok i have a kicker l7 15" and a directed d2400 amp im looking to build a box that has to fit in a VW golf i think in america its known as a rabbit?/?

neway ive seen the box plans on the site and was thinking of the 3Cu ft @ 35hz

this is the first tuned box i made so i want to know is this a good frequency to go for also my amp has a SSF which i think is fixed at 30hz is that suitable for the box im thinking of building?

another thing is do i set the frequency on the amp to that of the box?

any help will be appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I like the sound of 35-37hz some people perfer lower. but 35hz is a very good choice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks skadude for your reply

here is the plans of the box i plan to build its 3Cu ft @ 35Hz:

will that be suitable for the 15" L7 as i knw the minimum for a vented enclosure is 3Cu ft, or shall i try squeeze in a 3.5Cu @ 35Hz to make up for the lost volume on the driver?

if sum1 can answer my previous questions also id realy appreciate it

ya man 3 cubes will be fine. but if you really wanna go 3.5 you wont see much a difference maybe maybe a little deeper

as in the frequency u set on the amp is that suppose to match the tuned frequency of the box?

another thing apparently a vented enclosure on an L7 reduces the power handling to 750w rms but my d2400 is still pushin out 1200w rms will that be a problem seeing as it will be overpowered?

They have been known to handle more power if you know what your doing. if your talkin about the sub sonic filter I would set it at around 32hz

if your worried about over powering it, just make the box a little smaller. 3cu' sound good. i have never used a ssf. see if how it reacts with low freq. and set it from there...you may not need it.
