Ok here are some pics. I am going to vacuum the bottom out and wipe it down with some paint thinner as well. What are the top priorty spots I should put it on if I want to save enough for my doors as well?

I was planning on doing the same when I got off work. I got 120 square feet of that stuff nobody likes. I am gonna use most of it on the flat surfaces along with some spray on adhesive. I was going to lay my trunk carpet back over it though.

e dead?
I am laying my carpet back over as well

yup. When I took that stuff out, I noticed that the padding in my trunk was pretty good. I thought it was just mat to metal, but there's actually some good padding underneath. Still at work, so mine might have to hold off longer. I prepped it last weekend.

Pretty easy to work with

Took me like 30 or 40 mins to do that it just was getting dark and it was hot out. Ill post pics when its done tomorrow

Looks pretty good. It was supposed to be 91 degrees today, but it tapered off in the mid 70s I put about 3 hours in. Got **** near all of the trunk done. I wasn't measuring all that well though. how much do you have left?

I didnt read the thread. But here's my advice. Use scissors to cut the mat, much easier than knife/razor blade. And apply as large of pieces as possible, do not break a panel up into 27 tiny little patches of mat like so many people do. And lastly, roll the stuff down like there's no tomorrow... the better it adheres, the better it works.

yeah make sure you roll it on alot and everywhere. especially if there is a crease in one of the pieces make sure you can flatten it on there as much as possible.

Big pieces are you friend.

Get as close to the wires/electrical stuff as possible without actually covering it.

For covering it back up i put back all of the panels that i took off. just make sure to use a screw driver or something and poke out the holes where the pieces snap on.

I'm not done with mine yet but thats what i've learned so far. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if ur worried about what your trunk lid will look like just cover it with carpet. its a nice finishing touch and carpet isnt that expensive at all.

The trunk looks good. I'd use at least little bit on the higher areas. Make sure you have no air bubbles. Don't go crazy if you need to save some for the doors.

The trunk lid has two surfaces - the inside surface of the exterior sheet metal and the "X' braces and the area over the rear. Get as much as you can on exterior sheet metal. You can probably leave the braces alone. Then do the big, flimsy areas. Then you need to find a way to lock down the "X"'s and other areas that might want to rattle against the exterior skin. Expanding foam shot in carefully or silicone caulk will work. Put some on the back of your license plate if that rattles.
