going for SQ with balls - help with some things

thanks for the link. i emailed Tru to see if there is a price for that F-2A, it looks to be an all in one solution for the problem im having. specs are below - and thats exactally what im looking for. chances are itl be like $500 or somthing.
*sigh*

High Pass @ 12dB / oct: 35Hz ~ 5.5KHz - ID COMP2 HLCD's

Band Pass (High) Pass @ 12dB / oct: 60Hz ~ 1.2KHz - 6.5 CTD CL-62's

Band Pass (Low) Pass @ 12dB / oct: 63Hz ~ 21KHz - ADIRE KODA 8" MIDBASS

Low Pass @ 24dB / oct: 35Hz ~ 290Hz - not used?

Sub-Sonic @ 12dB / oct: 7Hz ~ 128Hz - ADIRE 15" TEMPEST

but the HPF is only 12db\oct. does this matter?
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT run a cd-2 on a 12 db slope if you do you will have to set it up at about 1.5khz and when you listen to it or rta it you will need to eq it. 24 db or greater is needed. it will be 2 times as clean sounding at the crossover points and it will not make the koda 8 strain. i know too many people and myself expeirences that use own or have used audio control to say it would be far better to use an analog eqx than anything close to or around its price range. the more you want to jam on it the higher you should set the x over point, 800-1k you'll be fine 500 hz is for the guy who doesnt get overly aggressive in his musical tastes and volumes- plus your koda 8 is fine to 1 k .......

Now that you talked him into the 2-way setup, if the EQX can give him the points he needs, then that would be good since it has some built in equalization as well. My main thing was keeping him away from the AC's that use those stupid resistor packs.......he'd be pulling his hair out trying to set the xover points. Dials are much much easier and newb/user friendly. Does the EQX have bandpass on it though for the Koda's?? If not, then he'll have to make sure his amp's built in xover can highpass low enough for him....or maybe his deck and a built-in highpass he can use?

where did ya go squeak!

only weakness in anolog audiocontrol peices is making sure they have a good ground. if its a sh!ty ground it will make noise. http://www.mobileaudio.com click on internet directory (upper left yellow highlight) manufacturers (green box) then you get a huge list of manufacturers hit the globes by their name takes you to their website. here is a direct link however http://www.audiocontrol.com/MobileAudio/Products/Equalizers/EQX.html

i would get a solid 4 channel beefier the better because the eight needs roughly 100 watts at least to keep up with the horns (turn gains down on horn channels)
125w x2 @2 - ill just hook them up parallel and bridge two channels. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/chicken.gif.218ea7401db50d5e31a7e0b37e05e21e.gif

not a problem.

so the audiocontrolEQX should be a good one to get? do i have to get any of those 'modules' to get anything special?

if im only doing the 2way front, i just need ot bandpass the kodas 600~1000 (whatever sounds best) and highpass the horns at 600~1000 (likewise) and then lowpass the tempest (notsure)?

if thats what you guys seriously suggest, ill go for it.

That 600-1000 will be your lowpass point. You'll also need to highpass the Koda's ~60-80 or where ever.

Oh yeah....if you keep your eyes open, you can find those ID24 crossovers used for ~$250-$300 or so. Fantastic unit if you can get them for around that price. But then you would still need an EQ.

ya squeak if you want to come on out to check the stuff (for req) and i can help you with your horns i got an arse load to get rid of still
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif Absolutely.....just let me know when you have time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

friday i have to be here they are redoing our roof other than that anytime but tuesday because ill be in hicksville doing a video system. ythose mods you need for the eqt arent that bad once you know how to use them pretty easy actually

yeah this stuff is over my head. I just thought I'd suggest looking to in a Chevy silverado 1500 or something. The gas mileage is good enough IMO. Mine's the 4.3L v6. Plus they look clean //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryexcited.gif.c26a15f316d23068607f36ddacd7a7ab.gif

-I would NOT get a dodge. I own a 92 dakota, was my dad's truck till 2002...he babied it! But throughout the years, SOOOO many things have had to be replaced. Steering rack 3 times (coming up on 4), Exhaust 2 times, Radiator 2 times, Ran clutch 1 time, and various other little shit!

My eclipse 8053 had some dandy x-overs on it~! I think they went up to 18...possibly 24 db slope!

lol, what ur looking out is better...hahaha...peace
