Hey all,

I just got back from the land of sand and oil and I am ready to start putting my system together. Since I have decided to go active, I am looking for a small 2ch amp for my tweeters that can fit under the front passenger seat of my TrailBlazer. There is plenty of room under there so size really shouldn't be an issue (16"x10"x3" max)

I want something that puts out at least 40 watts per channel @ 4 ohms and does it cleanly. Those of you that have an old 2ch amp sitting around in the garage or in a closet collecting dust let me give it a good home! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If possible, I would like to stay around $50 shipped. I will be paying with paypal.

Thanks! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

It would really be nice to have another Memphis amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

40 watts per channel was the absolute minimum I told myself that I was going to get. (35 is soo close though...5 watts isn't going to really matter)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I have heard people say that 10 watts is enough for tweeters and while that may be true, I would like to have a little more headroom.

I know that the m-class amps were underrated by a little bit. I don't really know about the power reference line though.

It is a good deal though. Let me see what other offers come up and I will let you know tomorrow if I want to take advantage of it.

Morning bump. Off to work! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Profile its the 2400 model 100x2 rms amp $50 shipped. It's the older white series, if you ask me they sounded better than the current ones.
Thanks, but I have had reliability issues with Profile amps in the past. Of course that was like 8 years ago and maybe they have gotten better since then. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

i have an old school memphis pb140 amp:

35 watts @ 4 ohm

50 watts @ 2 ohm

i find it to be underrated. used to push an Image dynamics IDQ 10" before.

missing one little screw for the speaker output, can be found at a hardware store.

$50 shipped.

specs can be found here pg.10
