Going active: Replace HU or use a processor?

i like my Alpine fantom face deck ...it has a really nice eq and active crossover built in and looks nice in the dash
True, but could we agree this one is a tad bit better?

Only nearly unlimited 8 channels of it. 16 channels if a pair of H990s are used.
Oh, I thought you had to have the outboard processor for all of the processing duties, lol, guess I was wrong.

As for the Eclipse this is what Megalomaniac said about it that is scaring me:

I usually would favor the eclipse too since I own one(cd7k though). but i would advise against the 7200
- lcd too small

- no independent eq

- lcd is not sunlight readable

- slugish response

- cant tune with remote

- connected dpad makes mistakes easier

I do love the Pioneer 800 though. Lets you do everything except the bluetooth that the eclipse has and no radio preset dedicated buttons.

i just didnt like the interface of the 87 too confusing for me.

It is outboard, but required for Any use. Processor or HU will not work without the other at all.

Oddly, never dealt with those complaints ..

You know, I hate you so much lol. Do you have to buy all of that or do you get it for being a salesman, rep or whatever you are, lol.
Nope, I buy all my goodies. Im not even an Alpine dealer. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

When new ..
HU was $2400 and the processor was $2600. Both are needed for any operation.
mines a whole bunch cheaper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif but it doesn't do quite as much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ...I think mine retailed around $600 I don't remember
