gm with the bose system

i have been told i can replace the stock bose amp in the center console of my crew cab gmc with a mon amp of my choice is there any truth to this and if so whats the best route to take (more boom or clean bass)

theres a wire kit you'd have to get,so that you dont trigger the check engine light

but it can be done? any idea what the wire kit is called or price? and any idea how much amp to buy i want it to be good bass but i dont need it to breathe for me lol
