Hey guys...couple dumb questions about using some fiberglass to brace my box...

Does the resin bond to the mdf without anything?(w/hardener of course)

Do i have to sand the mdf first or is it fine without?

and is 2 layers of mat enough on the corners to get them smooth and more rigid?

I'm finishing my wall and I'd thought I'd use some resin n fiberglass.

ohhh and wheres a good local place to buy resin? Lowes only has single quarts of elmers..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Yea, walmart or an autoparts store will have resin and mat for you...and I would just use layers of mat. cloth and fleece wouldnt be needed if youre looking to just get strength from it...fleece would be handy if you were wanting to form over a speaker ring/rings to make an enclosure, then you'd soak the resin into it and add mat for strength.

did my first few layers today around the port area....not too bad! took me a bit to figure out resin/hardener mix to get it to last for a while, but after that not too bad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thanks. Used elmers resin and mat and both worked pretty well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
