Hey guys, I was in the search for a pair of used RE SE 12's. I have come up short on it. I have $300 shipped to spend. I asked in a thread a while back about 3 Alpine Type S's or 2 Alpine Type Rs. Most people said the 2 Type R's. Any suggestions? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I havent quite figured if I want to do another ported box or just go with a sealed. I like ported because its loud and I like loud, but I didnt like it because it didnt hit the higher notes all that well. Sealed was tight and punchy, but just not as loud...

Ill probably shoot for a ported box since I can get around 4 or 5 cubes out of my trunk with my new box design.

You mentioned Viper in your post. What do you mean? I think what you mean is that am I using the Viper amp. I have a Viper alarm, not amp. My amp is a JBL 1200.1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

an SX12 or an RL-P 12 (with your gains way down)

if youd still like a two sub setup id recommend the new alpine type R's. nice SQL driver for the money and theyll match your amp well

sorry i saw the 1200.1 and ASSumed viper without even looking, an SX will take all 1200 watts of that jbl all day lond, and RLP might not but would take the amout of it at 2 ohms which is i dont know, but 1200@1ohm is perfect for SX and an SX would wang nice, can u fit a 15?

With my setup I think I can squeeze in two 15's if I ponder and plan alot on it. There are a couple of RE HC 15's on ebay that I am thinking about grabbing.

Thanks for the opinion on the Type R's

Dont want to run at 1 ohm with this amp since it doesnt have a fan and I want my amp to last longer, but I figured the RE SE's would have been worth the 1 ohm.

Might want to get more power for a pair of HCs......or just use one. Good choice, I had a single HC 12" getting about 1200, it got lowwwww and sounded great.
